moving right along...
filed under: life

well, with the mays business online site up, things have slowed down quite a bit at work. comments are trickling in...some of them amusing in a 'they're trying to sound like they know what they're talking about' sort of way.

funny how though it seems i don't have the time, i've managed to put out two more webpage designs - one for fort weyr and one for the seacraft on the mush that i frequent. both have turned out well, the seacraft one well enough that i've had someone mention that it might be fun to have a t-shirt design made from the front page... i could see that...and it would be nice.

scary enough, yesterday and today my attentions have turned forward and i've gotten the advent/christmas iteration of my webpage designed. now to be patient enough to wait for after thanksgiving so that i can put it up...

i noticed yesterday that dragoncon 2001 falls right across my birthday...hmmm...now how fun would it be to spend a weekend in atlanta? quite fun i think. :) i'm already starting to make travel plans and save money.

finally got the cds that i ordered from amazon. i'm on a classical music kick now - utopia triumphans with the huelgas ensamble conducted by paul van nevel (has a *beautiful* rendition of thomas tallis' spem in alium, the words of which are so timely for today), chanticleer's recording of palestrina's missa pro defunctis and motets, and chanticleer's mysteria-gregorian chants (which i have yet to receive and expect today). i had them in two orders, combined the orders, yet still received the cds individually. odd. if amazon goes out of business, it's because they didn't spend their shipping money wisely.

anyway. when i put on the utopia triumpans cd and spem in alium started playing...i got shivers. it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard. if you know nothing about it, remember this much - it is sung by a 40-part choir. that's right. 8 choirs with 5 members each, each singing their own part. to me, one whose voice likes safety in numbers, the fact that no one else is singing your part in the entire group awes me.
