well, at least ready for a change, anyway. i can only look at a webpage for so long unless i really just love it. this design might stay for a while.
i really don't know how i've managed to get all this extra free time, especially since we're in the middle of publishing an e-zine. call me speedy, i guess. i suppose it also helps, too, that what i normally have to squash into three days has been spread out over a week, and i'm still waiting for a feature.
the more i think about this upcoming semester, the more i wonder how i'm going to get everything done. at least i'm not trying to run the swing cats by myself...i'd probably be committed to a mental institution by the end of month one. on the other hand, i did give us a running start this summer - rooms and such are all reserved so we don't have to worry about it.
so, basically, things are going swimmingly - walks in the evening with Nick, dinner with friends, dancing often...i really can't complain about my life. :)
hard to believe that summer's almost over and that school starts again in a week and a half. even harder to believe that i've survived three semesters and still have a 4.0 GPR. that's an achievement for me!!
swing cats stuff is getting ready to start up again too. should be interesting to see how everyone reacts to the stuff i've done this summer - getting locations set up, starting on our exchanges.... the dance chairs don't want to be in charge of special events, which is where the exchanges fall, i guess. so...i'll pick up the slack. i don't want my name attached to some half-a**ed attempt. yes. my name is Kendra and i am a perfectionist. deal with it.
didn't get to go to the john mayer concert a few weeks ago. my friends who were supposed to have purchased tickets ahead of time didn't show. *le sigh* nick, michael, and i ended up wandering 6th street and then heading over to the kerby lane cafe for a late dinner. still fun. anything's fun, though, when you're with good friends. :)
let's see...what else have i been up to.... i've been swing dancing a lot. eating out with nick and michael a lot. sis came in for a short visit. i fell while roller skating - while standing still (!) and holding on to the wall (!!) no less. (yes. my name is Kendra and i'm a klutz.) played putt-putt golf and got two holes-in-one in a row. hmmm....that's mostly it. oh, and i've been reading a bit too. the woman in white by collins and the temple bombing. the woman in white really is convoluted. just when you think you know what's going on, the author throws another twist into the story. the temple bombing is really an interesting book. it's non-fiction and it reads like a documentary. i never knew the depth of the discimination in the south as it related to the jews in addition to the blacks. it's very well written. i'm only half-done with it, so...i'll have to report back on it later. i finally found the source, so now i have my own copy. that's another that i want to re-read. i went through it too fast the first time while i was leaving for the middle east.
