music is my life
filed under: life

i can't tell you how getting a cd made my day today. ok, so maybe i just did, but anyway. i got the stephen speaks cd that i pre-orded about a month ago. it's just awesome. :)

now that i've gotten new music twice in the past couple of weeks, it was time to shuffle out some of the stuff that's been in the car for a while. now playing in the little blue supercar:

dave matthews band - busted stuff
paul simon - graceland (somehow, i just can't bear to take it out at the moment)
nickel creek
nickel creek - this side (yes, both still in the car)
john mayer - room for squares (the original release; i have had this crazy urge to listen to 'back to you' recently)
graham colton (yeah, like this is going to leave the car anytime soon. i've yet to wear it out, though)
stephen speaks - no more doubt 2.0 (yay! you *must* find this cd and listen to it. it's awesome!!!!)
jesse cook - gravity
jesse cook - vertigo (a little new-age flamenco anyone? talk about music that wants to make you get up and dance...)
jonny lang - lie to me (for the days when i'm having a bad day. nothing like some hard-core blues guitar to make you feel better)

there. sufficiently eclectic for you? ok, so maybe it's a little heavy on the guitar/folksy side, but you should see the music collection i have at home. ;)

lulling me to sleep and getting me going in the morning:
chanticleer - mexican baroque (they're an awesome all-male acapella group that does, well, everything. their classical choral stuff is awesome, though. this cd has somehow become standard fare for me on christmas eve after midnight mass. don't know how it ended up that way, but it did...)
(lee ritenour - color rit was the previous selection. makes me think of summer nights in california down by the ocean, cool breeze, light jazz....*happy thoughts*)

speaking of music, the hammered dulcimer is coming along nicely. i'm really enjoying it. i'm probably annoying my neighbors as i learn the jig patterns. heh. they're hearing them over and over and over and over... it's all good though - eventually i'll get to the point where i'm learning a whole jig.

Hi, I was doing a search for Stephen Speaks and your website came up. I was wondering where did you get your Stephen Speaks CD? Because they are really good, but I cant find their CD anywhere. If you could e-mail me back to tell me where you got it, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi,
I was looking for Stepehen Speaks song "Out Of My League" My boyfriend wanted me to hear it because it explained exactly how he felt about me. Do you know a place where I could find the lyrics or a download to get it?
Thanks,
