at least once in every woman's life, she should own the perfect dress. it should make her feel like audrey hepburn and grace kelly. it should turn every head when she walks in the room. it should be the epitome of grace and style. just slipping it on should automatically give her confidence. it should render at least one man speechless aside from a single word - "wow." some women are lucky enough to own this dress. some are even more lucky to have the chance to wear it more than once -- and look even better in it the second time.
i was lucky enough to find mine last year. i was in the store, looking for something else. and yes, i spotted it from across the room. when it even fit - wow. i rarely find floor-length dresses that i can actually wear. i wore it to last year's mark of excellence awards. this year - friday's dance at camp hollywood, themed "new year's 1935." hopefully i'll get a picture or two and post. i tried it on earlier this evening and remembered as i looked in the mirror that i'd dropped even a few more pounds since the last time i'd worn it. guess that makes me one of the doubly lucky ones to look better in it the second time 'round. :)
i signed up for the london balboa festival...and ended up on the waiting list since it filled up so fast. alison's going to talk with the organizers when she's in france to see if she can sweet talk me in. it'd be cool to spend a week or so over there, visit my dad, get in some sightseeing in, dance the weekend away...i think by then i'll need some time away from work. we'll see. i'm taking the attitude that if it's meant to be, it will.
well, to bed with me. tomorrow i'm heading over to the del mar fair (or the san diego county fair as it's now officially known...) whee! funny how i've started looking forward to this so early this year...
