i finally got my airport express to work last night. now i can stream music to my stereo from anywhere in my apartment without precariously having to hook up my laptop to my stereo and balance it on the edge of my entertainment center...
and then today i signed up for flikr. should be easy now to post photos and such. did i mention i hooked it up to my blog so i can just add photos to the main page of my website with a single click?
i am *such* a geek.
time sure speeds by. i know all my entries seem to start like that, but it's true. i can't believe christmas is day after tomorrow. work has finally hit that dull point that i've been waiting for. i've got nearly all of my back-burner projects accounted for.
a week ago thursday, g surprised me with tickets to nickel creek at the house of blues. (aside: why are all concerts standing-room-only nowadays? on concrete, no less?) it was, as usual, an excellent concert, though they seemed to have less energy that concerts in the past. perhaps because it was 3rd-to-the last of their tour? they were back home? the energy level kicked up about halfway through and they finished with the fox - one of my favorites. andrew bird opened for them...i'd never seen live sampling with a violin. wow. per usual, my thoughts are turning to my fiddle again. i've even found a practice mute - on amazon of all places. maybe i'll start looking for someone to take lessons from again. hm.
i finally figured out how to transfer mp3 files to my phone. woe to the person who gets 'phenomena' as their ring tone. {evil laugh}
i think ottmar liebert has the right idea when it comes to music. "this cd is not copy protected + should play in all cd players as well as in your computer. this work is licensed + sold under the creative commons sampling plus 1.0 license...if you make a copy of the cd, we ask that you contribute $5.00 to the artist @ www.ssri.biz/donation - thanks!"
if only all record companies and artists were as free thinking. probably why he's not far from releasing everything over the internet and not putting out cds anymore.
otherwise, it's hard to believe christmas is just a few weeks away. i'm done with my shopping - amazingly enough. well, maybe just one more thing for someone. right now i'm enjoying ottmar liebert's new winter rose cd. chris botti's duets album is waiting in the wings.
maybe work will slow down a bit so i can get a few back burner things done...maybe. what happened to winter being the slow period?
