i think i need to change the ending times of my creative memories "get togethers". how anyone can get one done in two hours is beyond me. mine usually run two and a half hours...at least. tonight it took 3 hours to get everyone out the door - but i can't complain because it was the hostess helping me arrange furniture back to a semi-normal state. i'll clean the dining room table off when i get back.
tomorrow, mom, sis and i are heading to the affaire in the garden in beverly hills. it's an art show, but we don't kid ourselves - we're there for the jewelry. granted, i can't afford most of it, but i can drool. this means that i still need to pack clothes for tomorrow and drive a half hour to mom's house tonight. (i know, i know. why am i on the computer then?)
sunday's the bay bridge run/walk. at 8am. aie. i think we're usually there by 7, especially since this year i have to pick up my number there. at least i'll just be walking. that's hard enough on the steep up part of the bridge. it's fun though. you don't often get the chance to take your time across the bridge - especially since there's usually not any foot traffic allowed (i think.)
two more weeks and then my class is over. i just need to take the test for my correspondance class, take the prep course, the exam, and then hopfully i'll have my real estate license. another week or two and i should know something about the status of my contractor's license application. whew. thankfully, i don't think i'll get into a test date before the middle of august. i'll have some breathing time between license exams.

g and i happened to flip by armageddon whlie watching tv. we stopped and started watching. truthfully, i guess i wasn't watching too closely the first time. the amount of stuff in there that is unbelievable is, well, unbelievable. launch two shuttles right next to each other? right. have a shuttle crash land and still think it's going to get back into the atmosphere without blowing up? riiiiight. a piece of foam caused the shuttle to explode upon entry.
haha. oh well. it's entertaining at least.
i managed to get some work done on my key west scrapbook today. mostly titling but i also managed to stick a few pictures down. my book on hand lettering should come in from amazon this week. the alphabet i've ween working with is appropriate to the album, but would be nice to play with a few others.
i've gotten to the point where i'm wanting / hoping to have the time soon to start scrapbooking again. it's another "cobbler's children have no shoes" situation. i spend too much time teaching scrapbooking classes to actually do any scrapbooking myself. i keep telling myself that will change. hahaha. maybe someday.
suppose i should get to bed so that i can be up bright and early for mother's day. happy mom's day to all of you!
i've been too busy living to write about it. some of my new / renewed / continuing interests:
artist trading cards: i love creating art, but sometimes don't feel like i have the time. atcs are the size of playing cards. heck. i can handle that. i really want to experiment with drawing again, and watercolor, and keep going with my collages. maybe i'll get around to posting them on my flikr accout.
reading: i, sad to say, finally got my sd library card on tuesday. i can't believe it's taken me this long...except that the libraries keep such odd hours that when i think about it, they're closed. but now i have card in hand and can start borrowing books instead of buying them. if i can get to the library when they're open. at least i can search the catalog for all the library branches online.
passing the real estate exam: i'm nearly done with my principles class, and i'm working through my practice class. 46 days until test day!
getting a date for my contractor's license exam: forget the test, i just want my application processed. probably about 3 weeks before i hear. they're *so* behind.
*{censored}*: an item that cannot yet be revealed, but is keeping me hopping. keep an eye out for a revelation in june.
dancing: yes, still, but it's mostly on hold. i'm scheduled to compete at camp hollywood in july, but haven't gotten anyn practice time in because of the aforementioned items. oy. c'mon june. then my nights will free up again.
scrapbooking: i've been putting extra effort into it, and it's starting to pay off. the rest of my fridays in june are booked for classes, and i've got workshops scheduled over the next few months on saturdays. now if i could just have time for my art projects!
