if you ever get a chance to see billy watson perform with the fremonts, it's a must. chris michaels (bass player who has now moved far, far away to austin) and a few others were there as well. all evening long they traded on and off the stage, passing the mic around for everyone to have a chance to sing. much of the hilarity started when billy and troy both got on stage and traded the harmonica mic back and forth. billy's antics behind troy when he wasn't looking had us all in tears, we were laughing so hard. i guess when you've played in blues bands long enough "let's play a grinder in a" means something to you, because it always seemed to come together in a really cool way.
this is why i love listening to live music, especially when you get a bunch of different bands together. (i suppose that's why the 'buddy wuddy show' at lestat's with ben and nathan, anna troy, robin henkel, and billy watson is always so fun!)
