atlas' dream
Too much leaning
(Or holding up
on my part)
A love become a burden,
a shackle.
Oh sweet freedom!
So long given up,
slowly taken,
but not by choice.
"Why borne so long?"
They ask
"Gathering strength,"
I reply,
"Gathering courage,
Gathering might,
Gathering all my
strength to fight,
to crouch beneath this tiresome load
and, with a mighty heave,
cast it off -
a feat not even
Atlas could dream to attain."
