2 inflame with love, 2 be enchanted

blessing

'Tis strange that one could bring
such blessings to my lips,
kiss'd away on the wings of so many butterflies
and sped expediently on their way.
An outpouring such as I have never known
that wrests words from my mouth,
voice from my pen,
and breath from my chest.
To corner these thoughts and feelings
is as impossible as capturing the wind
in a gentle cage.
A multitude of feelings wash over,
changing as quickly as the brilliance
of a sunrise - the final effort
blinding to my heart and mind.
Too many words seem empty -
none holding the magnitude of
that which I wish to express,
too shallow to capture the overflow of my heart.
A look, a touch would convey
the feeling better, a way,
perhaps, to express the depth
of how I feel. And yet, even
then you would only know half.
And so, I bless - an inadequate
expression of love, of care,
of prayer from my heart.
May someday the joining of two
complete what the other lacks -
a full expression of love
where each sees the depth
of their love reflected, mirr'd, completed.
A blessing, therefore, of
love - may thou findest the other half to mir'r thine own
life - may thou be guided always on the true, the straight
soul - may thou find thyself and another half to complete thee
spirit - may thou feel the gentle touch of the Trinity
friendship - may thou always be surrounded by those that are true
labor - may thy work be cause for a cheerful heart
And may, in the ancient words, the Lord God Almighty, Father, Son, and
Holy Ghost, bless you and keep you unto everlasting life.
